Doheth Maximus
Oh what a weird Christmas I had this year. Christmas itself was great. The problem was with the before and during that has brought me down.
Friday afternoon, I started feeling a pain in my left side and start not feeling well overall. I kinda was hoping it would just pass. It did not feel like the flu or a cold but a constant pain. I tried to go to sleep Friday night at 9:30 pm. But three hours later was not asleep and still in pain. So I took an Ibuprofen and was able to sleep until that wore off and was awake and still in pain. The pain did not keep me from doing everything but just made me very tired and lethargic. Saturday went on. I went to a family party that was luckily close to home. I tried to be happy but made the mistake of not taking more meds. That got over and the afternoon continued.
Since
In the evening I decided that something was not right. My parents were kind enough to take me to Instacare and wait for me. The ride was bad. Every bump made me hurt more.
Got to Instacare...
Waited...
Get in room...
Waited...
Talk to Doctor...
Waited...
Got xray...
Waited...
Doctor comes and tells me it my be kidney stones...
Doheth!!!
Think about great pain...
Doctor wants a cat scan...
Finds out if someone is at the hospital...
Doctor comes back and tells me to go get the scan and blood sample.
Go to hospital...
More bumps in roads = more pain and spilt liquids (had to quickly drink 30 oz before scan)...
Get to hospital and bounced around until someone realizes that someone should help me.
Finally get scan (which of course is quicker than the paper work to get it)...
Get told I have Polycystic Kidney Disease and that there was a ruptured cyst that was the cause of all the pain. Also was told that I will have to wait until Tuesday to see someone else. Said to see familt doctor but I know I will just have to go to a Urologist.
Go get blood sample drawn...
Stop by Albertsons and get drugs...
Go home approximately five hours after leaving.
So Sunday morning, after having to take drugs again when they wore off at night, I look up the disease and weep. Looks like I will have to have a kidney transplant or removal some time in my life. The Cyst will continue to grow until they take over the kidney and cause it to fail. Polycystic Kidney Disease is the fourth leading cause of kidney failure.
So to some it up, I find out Saturday night that I have a disease that there is no cure for. Sunday I read all about Polycystic Kidney Disease and all the bad things that can happen over time if it is not token care of. Will have to have major surgery sometime.
So I spent my holiday brake in pain not completely enjoying Christmas and know I will have to have a lot of doctors visits in the next few weeks.
I was sick on my birthday and sick on Christmas. I can only hope I am not sick for New Years too.
