Hot Hot Hot
I am happy that spring is here. I have been waiting for the ground to dry a bit so I can take my rc E-MAXX truck out. I finally got to today! There is a great mound of dirt that works great. It is about 8 feet tall with a few options. There is small hills, big hills, steep hills, and a bunch of bumps all over. I ran it a few times. Once I stood on the mound and did a full out sprint with the truck across and empty flat grass area. It was going pretty fast. I change the batteries and go out again. Now that I have the handle on how to control the truck it was full speed ahead. It went for a long while then it appeared that the batteries had finally ran out. I go down the mound to the truck and could smell something. It smelt like melted plastic. I was concerned. I take the truck back to the car and take off the top. And there it was.

The battery pack had gotten very hot and melted both the battery casing and the packs plastic casing. There was a little smoke still comming off the battery. The battery pack is old and was one of the first that I had bought.
I guess I will just have to replace it with better batteries. One with a higher capacity and higher discharge rate. These only had 30 Amp discharge rate. I always worried about the batteries so I am kinda happy that it died. But I am also happy to be able to get more batteries that will last longer.

Wow! That looks painful! Those old powerizer packs must be getting near the end of their useful lifespan. What are you gonna get now?
One of those situations that you're kinda glad of, eh? I understand. I'd like to see that truck in action sometime.
